Okay day one on guild acceptance - mission STALK ohh I got someone in mind. I sure do! This is an awesome team: ( promise that next week will be devoted to learning how to make a pretty blog ) but for now I have only 2 followers so I am not so worried quite yet :)

OH OK I was so excited and really enjoying my stay with the guild less than ten sales until the guildmaster must have had a bad day and screwed up by loosing me, (Insert her Name here) as I wont bash her in public but I will say I wont do ANY shopping there despite her beautiful Quilts, I will not help anymore. I realized she wasn't promoting me anyways - I DID WATCH her tweets as she did mine (two cats are supposed to hang out and be friends not yell at some girl on the internet because she mispelled or posted wrong - thats just wrong.

I was smart and did what was required, added facebooks, etc and will still promote them - the loser is the one that will no longer be promoted by my silly ways of marketing. :) I guess that woman must have seen my facebook - and been offended by a girl holding a guitar - making it - (it was a modeling photograph of me) SO WHAT Is that justification to kick me out of a guild if I DID EXACTLY AND THEN SOME of what I promised to do? I mean the photo isn't great but do realize when I see people tweeting stumbling around too many pages I catch on very quickly who hits my page :) call them trackers. :) lmao. Your IP, no problem :) THANKS FOR SHOPPIN! (KIDDING FOLKS SERIOUSLY LAUGH - YOU must get used to "solkat" her personality is quite silly but only 5% of people laugh and get her jokes. I talk in third person but it sleeping disorder issues and that's when I get on a roll - :) YES IM SOBER! HOW DARE YOU LOL!It's called "YOU CAN SELL IT" and it is so much more encouraging and the folks are kind. Thank Heavens. I was thinking I shouldn't be apologizing for things I didn't know or do wrong and being that I promoted the heck out of the last guild and only got removed with no explanation (the laughing joke is the guildmaster must have seen that I was young and pretty says facebook) laughs ;) I appreciated that but can't believe someone was so rude to me and can't even honor a response because I followed her "rules" that were so long I had printed them by my laptop.
OH MY shop DUH: "SOLKAT CREATIVE ARTS (JEWELRY RIGHT NOW STERLING and PRICING NOW FOR GIFTS FOR THIS DIFFICULT ECONOMY - a little less inexpensive stuff for stocking stuffers and gifts this year will be really tough for ALL OF US as many of us lost our jobs, and have suffered under the economy (I HAVE)

Sad I spent 2hours daily huh promoting others and find that someone was having what I call a bady day.

I dont much care for the jealousy experienced today - all I can really fathom was the point of being removed from a guild when I worked so hard and sent free supplies, mailed business cards, posted comments tweeted twittered and never did get that WHY was I removed email if I was participating constantly and by a printed checklist.

I suppose I must have written a mispelled word. Oh MICHELLE'S SHOP She's a great sewing monster and loves recycling and makes super cool recycled jewelry out of melted bottles and all sorts of different things vintage patterns and just overall cool stuff. I do love my vintage stuff and wish I could sew - admire those that can, it's such a difficult craft for me.

I wish it was earlier and I could make these sterling earrings for a new etsy client for her baby :) so sweet I am making her baby girl tiny sterling silver hoops:)
that makes me happy finally getting some custom work.

AFTERALL ALL SAID AND DONE love artfire but 1 sale?
ETSY is just hands down amazing artistry.
Oh but artfire has better features and it WILL take off and SO WILL MY NEW GUILD FRIENDS IN "YOU CAN SELL IT" heck yes it can be done and we are going to do it.

For now just wanted to write -this week - let you know my disapointment with the last guild I joined - I wasted much time promoting someone that has the heart of steel. That makes me really sad. I know it's just an internet guild but I take PR work very seriously.

And I love helping others as well.
I'm good at it. :)
Going to go stare at the gorgeous new aqua blue gemstone briolettes from NY SUPPLIES &BEADS on etsy as this seller has the absolute hands down most unique most beautiful beads I have seen.
I can't wait to be able to spend a bit more in her shop / and THEY APPRECIATE business and say thank you - something that is loosing it's points - sellers lately being lazy not taking the time to say

October 14, 2010 Artfire Guilds and new Artfire Website

I launched into this incredible space called ARTFIRE! (on accident but gratefully so!). Here's my website :)

There are some really helpful and cool people on Artfire. A will way a lot more nicer than the folks I've encountered on Etsy. You know, I believe that newsplug on Etsy a few months ago just made everyone sitting at home unemployed start posting vintage items lol. The website (etsy that is) seems to have the same sellers over and over on the front page. And as much as I do love briolettes what gives with everyone copying designs so much the art community is being taken over by wire-wrapped biolettes?

Ha!

No luck finding work.
I mean photography work. People have cancelled (my fault for not asking for the downpayment) I a slowly learning that even in desperate times, you can't be so desperate like I was two weeks ago and believe even your friends have paid work for you. They don't nor do their friends expect to pay.

I mean a woman writes me "I'm on a tight budget" this is for wedding photography. HEY SO ARENT WE ALL AND DO I KNOW HER NO! SO why does she think she deserves this great favor from me? In any regards I tried calling and she doesn't have the deceny to return calls. First she bitched I didn't call her back within 24 hours then when I do call she won't respond because I told her " I START AT $500 and go up from there). ANYONE that knows something about wedding photography should know

1. It's all you are left with other than your dress
2. People spend countless hours editing wedding photography - we don't just show up with our camera and click and there you go. I get so TIRED of people assuming models come perfected and spit out of my camera looking like perfect dolls. THAT is called Photoshop EDITING work. When PHOTOGRAPHING PEOPLE I refuse to put an unpolished piece up. I mean that doesn't apply to macro's of the dirt etc., but people - I photoshop. So if you think anyone can compete for less than 500 go hire that wedding photographer and get crappy photos.

Sorry I had to rant about that.

I really need to get a few more edits done for a friend that just had a baby and some cute items I made his wife with the baby's photo in them (pendant/charms) so I will be more active here, if anyone does ever follow me :) STALK AWAY

Etsy Loves and Hates

I love etsy to death. I feel like I am insanely becoming addicted to it though. I keep clicking and each time I find new inspiration and cool things at each turn.
I bid on Alchemy constantly with no luck.
I list items nothing is selling.
But I see the same sellers, same pieces over and over again and of course this sounds like some jealous rant but it's not meant to be. I admire the pieces too but seriously, let some new blood in.

If you make it to the front page it seems almost guaranteed your etsy site is gonna take off. Forgive me my G key is stickin and I badly need a new laptop., dog meds, and it would be nice if my Wed photography appointment didn't cancel. I lost 200 on on that deal. My boyfriend will be getting a late birthday present and damn, all I really wanted was to buy him something nice for all that he has done for me the past year together.

I have no clue how to get on my feet. I keep advertising, entering, doing it all right.
But nothing is breaking loose.
I realized that Photography (freelance female photographer for hire!) is more just a luxury now. People aren't buying but they ARE still getting married.

I'm taking a ton of hits, my mind is scattered, every night I pass out exhausted, I wake up feeling horrible, I mean is this depression?

Etsy depression ?

Dog depression?

What's so safe about it all right now is that I have no followers, and I have no accounts linked up here :) Yay. Yeah right :) I opened up that dang twitter account. OH GOSH I HATE IT. :(

Take me back to my virtual world of staring at beautiful crafts.

Druzy Trends? One day my item will sell.

Is it me or are you feeling like everything is (and yes I realize it IS) a trend?
For awhile I thought I could never do anything correctly with my gorgeous Briolette Gemstone beads. Hmmm, wire wrapped sterling oxidized then buffed, drizzled on chains, earrings, you name it, they've done it. So now that it seems "unpopular" these druzy's are poping up left and right.

I even saw them at Michael's and hey - it's cool. But I am missing something with this Jewelry trend. What happened to being creative? I realize it's a risk for an artist but c'mon I am starting to feel like it IS ebay for Artists. And it makes me think I need to remove and lower my listings/pricings, but I don't.

One day my item will sell.

On a hip positive note I am blessed to have made friends with several online new pen pals from Etsy. I love it. I missed making new friends. I had my head stuck somewhere and I finally removed it.:)

Last week sold nothing - :( The week before I made this awesome Chakra bracelet custom piece for a new penpal friend Jessie, (Paix), and I am so happy she likes it. Have to to a few more tweeks on it. But we opted for

A 6 stranded patina'd sterling wire wrap (used with my signature links like here:)

and only gemstone beads. (Need to take the Blueberry Quartz out - doesn't make the cut).
but instead of being a boring rainbow bracelet the client and I decided on a piece that could double up as a 3 stranded choker necklace, 2 stranded princess necklace, 1 stranded long tie up necklace or a 6 stranded chakra bracelet ;)

I did all the wirework by hand less one segment of sterling cable chain.
Patina'd tumbled cut all the headpins and jumprings, and torched pickled, and I was super happy with the final outcome.

Since I am loosing my mind right now and realizing I have more login buttons than I can keep up with even on my password document I keep, I have now just jumped on a new blogger.
